Commanders!
In the recently launched Seahawks Battle Path, you have the opportunity to collect various lore-themed skins from the world of Armored Warfare, including Joshua Seagrove’s Avenger or the epic M1A3 Aces belonging to Kathryn Grey. And today, we’d like to show you another lore-inspired skin called XM5 Warhawk.
In the world of Armored Warfare, the XM5 Warhawk is a semi-experimental American IFV based on the German Boxer platform, featuring a modular turret. Before the budget collapse of the U.S. Army, it was a hot contender for the next American IFV, intended to finally replace the decades-old Bradley.
But that was not to be—it never passed the low-production phase and was never officially adopted, hence the XM designation. Roughly two dozen vehicles of this type were produced for various trials, and those left in El Arish were purchased (along with the M1A3 prototypes) by Clayburn Industries.
The single XM5 attached to the Seahawks is highly personalized with various non-regulation elements and paint jobs. It is too precious to be risked in combat and typically only gets deployed if there’s no risk of losing it or if the situation is exceptionally dire.
The first distinctive feature of the skin is its camouflage that can change colors based on your used base paint. The camouflage itself is basically the modern U.S. TALON pattern that the U.S. troops would likely be using in the 2030.
The name “Warhawk” was chosen by the Seahawks after someone (let’s face it, probably Woody) airbrushed a hawk picture on its upper front plate. The name was subsequently also written on the turret.
Since the ex-U.S. Seahawks knew at least some history, they remembered that, during the Second World War, the P-40 Warhawk planes were adorned with shark teeth. And so they thought: “why not do the same thing here?” As a result, the XM5 Warhawk has a set of shark teeth in the front and on the sides. Clayburn inscriptions can also be found on the vehicle even though most were painted over by now.
The final touch is the Seahawk logo in the back.
And that’s it for this skin, commanders. We hope that you’ll enjoy this skin, stay tuned for more Seahawk content and, as always:
See you on the battlefield!
