Historical Skins – Foreign Legion EBRC Jaguar

Commanders!

The summer events wouldn’t be complete without the annual July 14 Bastille Day celebrations and, as always, we have prepared new content for you, including a special EBRC Jaguar skin called Foreign Legion.

scr1

Unlike the previously shown American skin, the EBRC Jaguar one is not an interpretation of a theme, but rather based on a specific Jaguar in service of the Foreign Legion. The Legion is, of course, one of the most famous units in the world with foreigners from all walks of life fighting for France. In the Foreign Legion, your past is erased and – should you do your duty – you get a chance to become a citizen of France and start a new life.

scr2

The French Foreign Legion is an ancient institution with its history going back to the 19th century (specifically, 1831) and the unit fought in many wars, including the Crimean war, the Franco-Prussian war, both World Wars, in Indochina, Algeria, Gulf War and many African conflicts.

scr3

The life and service in the Foreign Legion is naturally remarkably harsh with deployments all across the world, most notably in Africa. It consists of nine regiments along with a few other units and is pretty much an equivalent of an army corps. Armor-wise, the Legion is equipped with light wheeled vehicles, including the VBL armored car (for scouts), the AMX 10 RCR fire support vehicle of the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment and, more recently, the Jaguar.

scr4

The skin is based on an EBRC Jaguar belonging to the Foreign Legion, specifically the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment under the 6th Light Armored Brigade.

scr5

This specific vehicle was first shown during the 2024 Eurosatory expo in Paris since the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment was the first unit of the French army to receive the Jaguar, replacing both the ERC 90 (phased out completely in 2021) and the AMX 10 RCR (phased out in 2025). It has since been deployed with the unit on several joint NATO exercises in all sorts of environments, including the Baltics and Norway (where, interestingly enough, the vehicle used the same brown and green camouflage).

scr6

In addition to the skin, we’ll also have for you a new French camouflage called Foreign Legion, as seen on a truck belonging to the French Foreign Legion.

scr7

Many different nationals used to serve in the Foreign Legion. Can you guess the nationality of this truck's crew?

scr8

And, of course, we’ll have three decals for you – this time, it’s three real-life unit emblems:

  • Emblem of the French Foreign Legion
  • Emblem of the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment
  • Emblem of the 6th Light Armored Brigade
