Commanders!
A little under two months ago, we have launched the “Design a Future Legendary Vehicle” event and promised to allow you to decide on a future Legendary Vehicle that’s coming to Armored Warfare – and we are right now making good on that promised. From over 400 designs and ideas submitted, we narrowed the choices down to these designs.
Please read carefully through all the options and then use the form on the bottom of the article to vote on them.
Important:
- As per the initially published rules, you have to own at least 1500 Legendary Blueprints (or a single Legendary Vehicle, that of course counts as well) in order to vote (some are available right now in Web Shop)
- We will perform a check as soon as the voting phase closes, so make sure you also enter your ingame name correctly – if you make a typo, your vote will be forfeit
- You can only vote once per account
Please also note:
Each submission has three categories – short summary (the core of the idea), gameplay (what the design brings to Armored Warfare) and a link to an archive. The first two categories are redacted by the Armored Warfare team (and therefore represent a more refined representation of the design than the initial entry) but the archive contains the files the players have submitted, so you can check it for more details on the design.
The voting will be available until March 22, 2026 (21:59 CET).
With that being said, here are the candidates (in alphabetical order based on the name of the author):
Entry 1 – HIMAG 90 by Arto09
Short Summary: The HIMAG 90, or High Mobility/Agility, is an upgraded version of the 70s project developed alongside the famous HSTV-L. Initially tested with a 75mm ARES gun, this variant has been fitted with the 90mm MCAAC gun from the same design family.

Gameplay: Legendary version of something akin to ELKE – an extremely fast but unarmored vehicle with high firepower. Two notable mechanics are fire mode swap (continuous fire or extreme burst compensated by lower accuracy plus overheat) and tri-dart APFSDS (gun fires three projectiles akin to a shotgun).
Entry 2 – Challenger 2 Fortress by Azdule
Short Summary: Legendary version of Challenger 2 with a special mechanic described below.

Gameplay: Aside from increases in firepower and armor as befits a Legendary Vehicle, there would be the new Fortress Mode. The vehicle can deploy its thick additional side armor to form an impenetrable barrier, as demonstrated below. While deployed, the vehicle cannot move, thus forming a “Fortress” bunker.
Entry 3 – Koalitsiya-SV by Bankrobber
Short Summary: Koalitsiya-SV is a next-generation Russian self-propelled artillery system featuring a twin-barrel 152 or 155mm gun with automated loading. It uses an unmanned turret and a protected crew capsule in the hull front, achieving very high rates of fire, long range, and improved survivability through extensive automation and modular design.

Gameplay: Classic artillery design (in the current Tank Destroyer direct fire form) featuring either the option to fire both guns at once, or in rapid succession. Alternatively, indirect fire capability can be considered.
Entry 4 – Super CATTB by Bismarck_k
Short Summary: M1 CATTB upgraded to Legendary Vehicle level, including the addition of TUSK ERA kit.

Gameplay: Similar in concept to standard CATTB – a combination of well-rounded performance typical for American tanks with the signature “double tap” fire ability. While not offering any significantly different gameplay, the concept of a CATTB upgraded to Legendary status appeared many times amongst the entries, hinting at its popularity.

Entry 5 – 1K17 Szhatie by blackboxwang
Short Summary: Real-life laser vehicle prototype of Soviet origin. Designed to disable enemy electronics and optics, including missiles.

Gameplay: Damage-over-time dealer. Aiming the laser at enemy vehicles applies a damage-over-time (DOT) debuff that continues to deal damage even after the laser is disabled for a short period of time. The longer the laser stays targeted, the more damage stacks are applied (think of it as a “shadow priest” type of gameplay). Please note that this is not the type of gameplay the author proposed – this is a design of the Armored Warfare team that was (and still is) considered. For original proposal see the archive.
Entry 6 – LAV 6 Mk.2 by cybersetha410
Short Summary: Real-life Canadian Army wheeled IFV.

Gameplay: Dedicated recon and electronic warfare platform. Features recon equipment to increase viewrange and spotting drones similar to the design developed for QN-506 as well as the ability to stay stealthy when not moving. For more details, please check the archive.
Entry 7 – 20-XX Ilmatar by Doug7070
Short Summary: Fictional Infantry Fighting Vehicle with extremely high firepower. Similar in concept to CV90, it features an elevating turret. You can read more about it in our preview. Quality-wise, this is the best submission and deserves a special prize.

Gameplay: A heavy IFV without brand-new mechanics, but offering excellent combined arms firepower with multiple weapon cycling as well as a turret that can be extended over obstacles.

Entry 8 – RV-22 Nemesis by FLANKER_22
Short Summary: Fictional Main Battle Tank with extremely high firepower. You can read more about it in our preview.

Gameplay: A modern MBT similar combining ATGMs and cannon firepower. Its signature feature is its extendable launcher, giving it more tactical versatility over standard Main Battle Tanks.

Entry 9 – Turtle Tank by JifengTaxue (疾風踏雪)
Short Summary: Heavily modified Russian Main Battle Tank with a large spaced armor superstructure on top of it, similar to the designs seen during modern conflicts.

Gameplay: Very distinctive gameplay trading additional protection for limited turret traverse. The main feature here is its almost complete invulnerability to top-attack missiles, including FPV missiles. Not very realistic, perhaps, but offering interesting tactical choices. This is the sole entry by a player from the Chinese server.

Entry 10 – XM808 Twister by knutliott
Short Summary: Starting in the late 1960s, Lockheed Missile and Space Company developed a small family of articulating eight wheeled vehicles designed for cross-country mobility called Twisters. An armored version equipped with a 20mm gun was delivered to the U.S. Army in 1970 for testing as a wheeled reconnaissance platform. This vehicle, the XM808 Twister, featured eight powered wheels, two engines, and two separate hulls joined together at a pivot point that allowed the front of the vehicle to change pitch, roll, and yaw. This gave the XM808 excellent mobility in difficult terrain, and it was also capable of swimming. Despite its performance, there were concerns about its complexity and crews' ability to maintain it in an austere environment, and the XM808 was not selected for production.

Gameplay: The ultimate active scout with its speed and off-road capabilities being second to none. Also features an extremely distinctive model.
Entry 11 – T-72A Christina by London
Short Summary: This is a different and unique take on the Legendary Vehicle topic. The T-72A Christina is based on the idea brought up by Stephen King in his novel Christine about a possessed killer car. As such, this tank features all sorts of horror-inspired elements such as spikes and a blade as well as a unique ability.

Gameplay: Aside from the parameter buff to make it competitive amongst other Legendary Vehicles, the T-72A Christina has a unique ability where it (much like the possessed car from the novel) slowly repairs itself when not in combat.
Entry 12 – BMPV-64 by MEMENTO_42
Short Summary: Real-life Ukrainian design, a heavy IFV developed in 2010 using a T-64 series hull. The engine was moved to the front and the vehicle features a classic T-15-esque combination of high firepower and thick armor.

Gameplay: Similar in concept to T-15 – a combination of thick armor and solid firepower without radically different new mechanics. A safe choice, if you will. Since this vehicle also appeared more than once in the submission, we’ve decided to include it in the voting.
Entry 13 – Object 490 Poplar by Nukki
Short Summary: Real-life Soviet paper design of a “super tank” from the 1980s. The most distinctive feature here is its two main guns installed on a turret.

Gameplay: Similar to other Soviet turbine-driven supertanks but with two parallel guns. Very mobile and with excellent frontal armor. The 125mm or 152mm guns do have a certain convergence but this is an assault tank, intended to fire at close ranges.
Entry 14: 2S31 Vena by Radash
Short Summary: Modern self-propelled mortar with 120mm rifled gun. Designed in the early 2000s, it uses a modified BMP-3 chassis and was apparently produced in small numbers.

Gameplay: Lightly armored vehicle capable of both direct and indirect fire. This proposal represents the return of the indirect fire artillery concept to Armored Warfare but the lower caliber of the gun as well as lower destructive power compared to full-fledged artillery would make this design more unique. To mitigate the toxicity, indirect firepower would have reduced splash, module damage and performance, but this would be compensated by high mobility and higher rate of fire.
Entry 15: K2EX by Raptor_Emperor
Short Summary: The K2EX, or K2 Export, is a modernized version of the K2 Black Panther first unveiled by Hyundai Rotem at the Seoul Aerospace and Defense Expedition (ADEX) in 2023. It was also showcased in 2024 at the Eurosatory Exhibition in Paris. While similar in appearance and specifications to the base K2 Black Panther, it hosts several key advancements such as improved armor, APS, new RCWS, advanced ammunition and more.

Gameplay: Support Main Battle Tank with advanced electronic capabilities, including the one to hack enemy targets. This ability is line-of-sight only and works much like Designate Target would. Hacked targets not only take increased damage, but also have parts of their UI scrambled, as demonstrated on the screenshot below.

Hacking also disables enemy APS and reduces viewrange for several seconds. When used against AI opponents (bots), hacking disables the enemy vehicle completely for a couple of seconds.
Entry 16: ZIL Punisher by senja433
Short Summary: Lightly armored but very fast armored car capable of carrying both payload and infantry, with a light turret retrofitted to its body. A modified real-life design.

Gameplay: Minelayer and infantry carrier. The vehicle can, as an active ability, deploy anti-tank mines that explode upon contact with enemy vehicles. Mines are visible and can be destroyed by gunfire. The secondary feature is for the infantry to fire from within the vehicle (snipers, AT squad) even while on the move.

Entry 17: S-Tank 133 Varulv by shydark27
Short Summary: This is a fictional, Legendary Vehicle version of the famous Swedish Strv 103, or S-Tank. The name Strv 133 Varulv stands for “werewolf”. Unlike the regular S-Tank, it carries a massive 130mm gun (that retains the unique mechanic of being aimed by the entire hull) as well as a roof-mounted turret with an autocannon.

Gameplay: Stealthy tank destroyer with several abilities allowing the vehicle to hide from sight and fire while hidden. Balance matters aside this design was very well thought-out and we wholeheartedly recommend taking a look at the archive linked below.
Entry 18: Object 299 by Silverwing_N-EX
Short Summary: Real-life Soviet design of a “super tank” from the 1980s. The most distinctive feature here is an unmanned, low-profile turret installed on the hull.

Gameplay: Fast, hard-hitting assault Main Battle Tank with a low hull, high mobility (thanks to a turbine engine) and excellent frontal protection.
Entry 19: FMBT by Spyder
Short Summary: Real-life American design of an advanced tank from the 1990s. Compared to other tanks such as the Abrams, the FMBT was lighter but well-protected. You can read more about it in our preview.

Gameplay: The vehicle would be a very fast and stealthy with a powerful armament (120mm ATACS gun with a high-capacity autoloader – furthermore, the gun can be upgraded to 140mm). It would also have excellent spotting range but also thin armor, especially its sides. The tank would receive very low module damage with the ammo racks immune from explosions. The downside, aside from the armor, would be poor gun depression. Overall the vehicle would be akin to XK3 or Object 640 – only with more firepower and mobility but less camouflage than the XK3.
Entry 20: M1A3EX by VenTech
Short Summary: Similar in concept to standard XM1A3 – a combination of well-rounded performance typical for American tanks with the ability to choose from two guns – 120mm and 140mm. We have received a very high amount of entries featuring updated Abrams models, most of them being the recently unveiled M1E3. Of these submissions, the M1A3EX is the best-developed one, which is why it made into the voting phase.

Gameplay: Similar to that of the XM1A3 with one exception – the same frontal armor concept that is featured on Leopard 2A7DK – Sarpanite lacing causing the armor to be considerably thicker than on the original tank.

Entry 21: M1190 Stormbreacher by Weini0101
Short Summary: A fictional Legendary Vehicle version of the M1150 Breacher, a mine-clearing vehicle design built on Abrams chassis.

Gameplay: Unique mechanic includes the rocket launchers the vehicle fires. Unlike the real-life variant, these would fire either slow but powerful guided missiles, or mine-deploying missiles that would cover a certain area with a visible anti-tank minefield (area denial intended to counter fast, hard-hitting close range vehicles).
Entry 22: TK-X-7 by zenoniations
Short Summary: Legendary version of the Type 90 Main Battle Tank with a dozer blade and a 30mm remote-controlled weapons station. It represents a “what-if” scenario: the most modernized version of the Type 90 still in service, incorporating technologies intended to counter modern battlefield threats.

Gameplay: Versatile Main Battle Tank based on the Type 90, but offering an upgraded gun (135mm), 30mm RCWS, a dozer blade protecting the lower frontal plate, and a special ability allowing where its onboard computer analyzes the enemies for structural weaknesses, allowing every third shot against a specific target to deal 40% more damage.
