Historical Camouflages – Thailand and Cambodia

Commanders!

We will soon be launching a special event called Temple Guardian in support of Into the West Battle Path. While its main purpose is to provide you with bonus Battle Coins, it has another theme too – the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, which took place in 2025 in July and later in December.

We have several new visual customization options for you from both countries and you’ll be able to earn them all in the event. Let’s start with the camouflages.

scr1

The first Thai camouflage is a typical Thai military vehicle camo, as seen on a VT-4 Main Battle Tank in 2025. Standard Thai camouflage consists of green, black, sand and brown areas and it is designed for woodland and jungle areas.

scr2

The second Thai camouflage, however, is more exotic. It is a digital camouflage used on Thailand’s Stingray Light Tanks (this particular pattern was seen in 2017 during a demonstration) and apparently nowhere else. It consists of bright green and orange “pixelated” areas.

scr3

In order to cover both sides, we have the first Cambodian camouflage, as seen on a Cambodian T-55 tank belonging to Brigade 70 in 2020.

scr4

This standard Cambodian camouflage is quite similar to the Thai one, only missing the brown areas compared to its counterpart. Equal conditions tend to produce similar results – at least when it comes to camouflages, because the Cambodian T-55s were clearly no match for superior Royal Thai Army armor.

scr5

The second Cambodian camouflage is also based on vehicles belonging to Brigade 70 (one of Cambodia's best fighting units), as seen in 2020. However, instead of tanks, this camouflage was used on its BMP-1 Infantry Fighting Vehicles.

scr6

We will also have some real-life decals based on various Thai and Cambodian designs.

The 2nd Cavalry Battalion decal was seen on a Stingray Light Tank belonging to the unit of the same name under the 3rd Armored Division. Not many units in the Thai military are equipped with Stingrays and the service vehicles are typically marked this way.

scr8

Thai armored vehicles are also marked with Military License Plates such as this one. The plate includes a red chakra wheel with Thai numerals (in this case 87137), as seen on another Stingray Light Tank.

scr7

From the opposite side, we have then Brigade 70 symbol, consisting of a stylized Vishnu archer and the text that simply says “Brigade 70”.

scr9

We’re almost at the end with this decal called Fury, as seen on the barrel of a Thai VT-4 Main Battle Tank that took part in the 2025 fighting. The inscription was clearly inspired by a movie of the same name, which became a source of inspiration for at least four or five separate tanks all across the world, from Thailand to Ukraine.

scr10

The final decal is the Flag of Cambodia (also available as, well, a flag).

scr11

And that’s it, commanders. We hope that you’ll enjoy these new additions to Armored Warfare and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
