Commanders!
The month October is commonly associated in Germany with the Oktoberfest festival – but do you know what’s even more German than beer, dirndl and Lederhosen? Box-shaped tanks that happen to be the some of the best fighting machines in the world, that’s what!
This month, we are celebrating the Leopard series with a discount!
From October 2 to October 31 2017, the following vehicles will be available for lower price than usual:
Leopard 1 Tier 3 MBT – the Leopard 1 Main Battle Tank is one of the most important western tanks of the mid-Cold War period. Designed in Germany, it followed – much like the AMX-30 – a philosophy that emphasized high mobility and firepower over protection, arguing that no amount of contemporary armor would protect the vehicle against MBT main weapons anyway. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 35%
OF-40 Tier 4 MBT – the OF-40 is actually an Italian vehicle, but it can be considered a “honorary Leopard”, as it has been built by the same people who license-produced the Leopard 1 in Italy and shares many of its design traits, even components. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 35%
Leopard 1A5 Tier 5 MBT – this is the ultimate pro version of the Leopard 1. Improvements include the new EMES 18 Fire Control System as well as additional turret armor. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 35%
Leopard 2AV Tier 6 MBT – the “Austere Version” Leopard 2 prototype was developed for comparative testing back when the Americans and the Germans still had the idea to have a unified Main Battle Tank, following the MBT-70/Kampfpanzer 70 flop. While the Leopard 2AV fared better in the testing, the American chose the Abrams as their future MBT, eventually leading to the German decision to go their own way. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 35%
Leopard 2 Tier 7 MBT – the first production version of the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank, fielded to replace the aging American M48 Patton in German service. Produced between 1980 and 1992, it was modernized several times with the Leopard 2A4 variant being the most common. It was also widely exported. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 35%
Leopard 2A5 Tier 8 MBT – a further upgrade to the Leopard 2 series, featuring advanced armor as well as some other smaller improvements. While not as widely exported as the older Leopard 2 models, it was accepted in service in several European countries. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 25%
Leopard 2A4 Evolution Tier 8 MBT – this is an upgrade of the Leopard 2A4 variant by IBD Deisenroth from 2007 to make the two decades old vehicle meet the requirements of modern battlefields. The most important part of the upgrade is the Advanced Modular Armor Protection Armor, giving the tank a distinctively futuristic look. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 25%
Leopard 2A6 Tier 9 MBT – until recently the latest variant of the Leopard 2A6, this is essentially a Leopard 2A5 with a longer L/55 cannon, compared to the older L/44 120mm smoothbore by Rheinmetall. Until the introduction of the Leopard 2A7 (that only featured a host of minor upgrades), it has been the most powerful Leopard 2 for 15 years. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 20%
Leopard 2AX Tier 10 MBT – this is the existing Leopard 2A7, featuring a number of experimental upgrades, chief amongst them being the recently unveiled 130mm cannon and an updated ESPACE armor kit by IBD Deisenroth. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
- Discount: 15%
In Armored Warfare, the Leopard series are the snipers of the MBT class. While not as well armored or not as mobile as some other tanks of their Tier, the Leopards feature the most accurate guns of the class and are fully capable of penetrating the enemies at long distances. They are deal for you if you prefer to snipe but also want to keep some armor without having to rely on stealth. If forced to advance, cover your hull, drive from cover to cover and use terrain to your advantage.
We’ll see you on the battlefield!
