Commanders!
We’ll soon be celebrating Polish Independence and, for the occasion, we’ve prepared another skin for you, this time for the M1A2 Tier 8 progression MBT. The skin is called M1A2 SEP v2 Asgard.
M1A2 SEP v2 Asgard, MSPO 2023
As we’ve mentioned in our previous article, Poland ordered 250 M1A2 SEP v3 Abrams tanks in April 2022 (to be delivered between 2025 and 2026), followed by another contract for modernized M1A1 tanks formerly belonging to the U.S. Marine Corps.
M1A2 SEP v2 Asgard, MSPO 2023
The skin in question is, however, based on an older M1A2 SEP v2 that the Americans brought to the MSPO 2023 expo in Kielce that took place in September. The vehicle was brought as a showpiece by General Dynamics Land Systems and belongs to the 1st Battalion, 35th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Armored Division. This unit has participated several times in joint exercises in Poland in the last couple of years.

As is common in the U.S. tank units, the vehicle bears an individual name “Asgard” (although another name, “Thor”, is written on the side of the coaxial machinegun). The APEX markings on the tank were present as well, likely as a part of the General Dynamics exhibit.

Following the recent events in the east, Poland has been expanding its military significantly and that includes the tank forces. In fact, such arms acquisitions are almost unprecedented and the Polish Land Forces are bound to become one of the strongest (if not the strongest) militaries in Europe. With the inability of Germany to provide large amounts of tanks on short notice (along with the problems in German-Polish Leopard 2 cooperation), the United States of America are pretty much the only partner large enough to make it happen.
Polish Winter Camouflage
We’ve also prepared the modern Polish Winter camouflage for you. This camouflage consists of a net of white paint lines applied over the standard Polish camouflage, creating an effective look. This camouflage was seen on a Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank belonging to the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade “Tadeusz Kościuszko” during a winter exercise in 2021.

And, last but not least, we’ll have three decals for you:
- Freedom Eagle (a symbol of Polish and American cooperation as seen at the MSPO 2023 expo)
- Badger symbol
- Birch symbol
Why the last two though ? Well, the Poles tend to paint animals and other symbols on their vehicles. Perhaps we chose them randomly. Or perhaps not. Who’s to say?
Either way, we hope that you’ll enjoy this skin, and, as always:
See you on the battlefield!
